From September into May, Church of the Ascension offers a Parish School of Religion for children in grades 1 to 8. The School teaches our children the knowledge that they need to pray, love, and serve our God. It also prepares them for the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation. The Church strongly encourages all children who do not attend a parochial school to register for the Parish School of Religion.

Boldly Announce Your Ministries
OpenChurch is a platform to help you spread the word about your ministries and the ongoing efforts to make a difference. We would use this area to tell others about the overall mission of your church and how and where your ministries are headed.
Spread the word through the use of the internet where you can keep everyone informed of all the activities, needs, and events. Now with open church you don't have to have a full time web staff to spread the word, you can start for free, and the add features as you grow. If your church grows to a point you want more customization or features we're here to help either directly or by connecting you with one of our approved partners.
The Social Committee's role in the church is to provide opportuntities for parishioners and the community to mingle and get to know each other, build comradery, and have fun at church sponsored events outside normal Mass hours when the congregation regularly joins together. Events may or may not have a religious theme or religious holiday connection. Some examples of current social committee activities include:
Meetings are in one of the meeting rooms on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., February through May and September through December.
The Women of Ascension provide care for the Altar, meals after Funerals, contact with shut-ins during the holidays, and community family support.
A Women's Retreat Fund and funds to support our activities are raised via bake sales, raffles and hospitality refreshments between Sunday Services.
